2014 EURO TOUR - March 21 - April 1, 2014 GERMANY, AUSTRIA, SWITZERLAND, SLOVENIA & ITALY U15/U16 & U17 BOYS

EFS has just completed its 18th playing tour to Europe since its inception in the year 2000. Two boys teams (29 players), aged U15/U16 and U16/U17, returned to Canada in early April from a 13 day playing tour of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, and Northern Italy. This was undoubtedly the most exciting and successful tour, both in terms of team performance and games results, yet it was the toughest due to the number of countries visited (5) and the number of games played (9) within the short time frame of 13 days. Here are the match results:

U15/U16 Boys

1st game in Frankfurt Germany vs. 1.FC Langen – result 3 - 0 WIN 2nd game in Salzburg, Austria vs FC Anif (2nd Div Team) – result 2 – 2 TIE 3rd game in Porec, Croatia vs NK Rovinj – result 3 - 0 WIN 4th game in Ljubljana, Slovenia – 7 - 1 WIN 5th game in Zurich, Switzerland vs FC Grasshopper (U14 team) 9 vs. 9 - result 9 - 5 WIN - This was a very entertaining game - EFS played quality soccer

Summary:
TEAM GAMES PLAYED WIN TIE LOSS GOALS FOR GOALS AGAINST
U15/U16 5 4 1 0 24 8
U16/U17 4 0 1 3 4 7
TOTAL 9 4 2 3 28 15

Considering that the U17 team played against older opposition teams, they were competitive with their opponent and played great soccer both technically and tactically resulting in close results. The opponents' coaches provided very positive feedback following the matches and several of the EFS players left a positive impression on those coaches, opening the door for future tryouts and development for our players in Europe. René Forrer, of FC Regensdorf had these comments after the tour:

"Hope you had a safe trip home and you were able to gather a lot of unforgettable impressions. I want to thank you again for your performance in Regensdorf. You can be proud of your team, there are magnificent Boys. Also football technically made the team an excellent impression. I wish you every success for the coming season. Take care and hopefully we keep in touch. All the best, Rene Forrer, FC Regensdorf"
