EFS will be sending six teams to the KYSA Slurpee Cup Tournament in Kamloops BC the May long weekend, May 17, 18 and 19, 2014. Competing this year are our U12 Boys, U12 Girls, U14 Boys, U16 Boys, U17 Girls and U17 Boys. Approximately 85 EFS players, including players from Quesnel, Wiliams Lake and Salmon Arm, who have been taking part in extra training for the past five weeks and are keen to put their football skills and team strategies to the test against teams from around the province this coming long weekend. At this time we wish to express our gratitude to the following parents of players: Our parent assistant coaches, Craig Chila, Steve MacDonald, and Dale Venekamp for assisting Saibo, Amar and Igor in preparing players for the tournament and who will be assisting with the coaching duties while in Kamloops. Our Team Leaders of the six teams, Larisa Talic, Cyndi Gerlach, Laura Wetaski, Jaime Williams, Chris Broatch, and Maria Cook for taking the extra time to help prepare and coordinate their specific team players and parents. Special recognition should be given to Larisa and Angie for their part in coordinating the administration and finances for all teams. Of course, our thanks extend to the EFS parents for their ongoing support of their sons and daughters while they prepare for this tournament. We must particularly acknowledge the parents of our out-of-town players who have dedicated much of their time in transporting their sons and daughters to and from North Vancouver to attend the extra training with us. Bravo! We wish to also thank many of our alumni players who have generously loaned or donated their jerseys to those EFS players without. EFS wishes all our players success at the tournament and hopes that our EFS families enjoys playing and watching this beautiful game. We will report back on the tournament results next week.
