Spring Camps 2017 Summary

This year’s Spring Camp was held in five different locations across British Columbia: Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Mt.Currie, Vernon, and Quesnel. In the five camps over 250 players between ages of 7 to 18 years old went through the EFS training program. We thank everyone for attending this year’s Spring Camps and for choosing EFS has their development camp.

Even under blazing hot conditions, the European Football School, led by the always smiling Saibo Talic, was able to draw huge numbers to his five-day camp.

In total 92 eager soccer players between the ages of eight and 18 laced up their boots to learn from the knowledgeable coaching staff of EFS.

European Football School camp sees record numbers in Williams Lake

More than 110 soccer players were sharpening their skills last week during the European Football School camp.

The Vancouver-based EFS has loyally brought its talented coaching staff to Williams Lake, including head coach Saibo Talic and his son, Amar Talic, for the past 14 years teaching skills and tactical knowledge of the game to youth soccer players.

“This is the biggest numbers we’ve had in Williams Lake,” Amar said. “It’s a great turnout from all ages — six all the way to 18, and it’s great to see lots of goalkeepers this year.”

Hansen to take soccer talents to Holland

Eighteen-year-old Justin Hansen is travelling to play in the soccer hotbed of Holland.

In May, the centre-back flew to Europe to try out for v.v. OJC Rosmalen’s under-19 division three club, where he was later selected for the team.

“It’s very well structured, high intensity soccer and very physical,” Hansen said. “It’s smart soccer. They’re a lot more passionate and it’s really enjoyable to play.”

EFS boys off to Brazil to play in Neymar Jr's Five Tournament

Congratulations to five EFS players in winning the Neymar Jr’s Five Tournament in Vancouver, BC this past April. Current EFS players Sinan Zukanovic and Connor Dennehy and alumni’s Dzenan Bezdrob, Anel Hodzic and Amel Hodzic, all played for the EFS U21 team this past season in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League.

All five players are off to Praia Grande, Brazil next week where they will presenting Western Canada in the final cup tournament. The tournament will feature the best teams from more than 35 nations.
